What will we say next year?

Happy New Year! I want to personally send you a little note to tell you how much I appreciate you, how inspired I am by you and how you have encouraged me this past year! Thank you!

Today is the first day of a new year and one of my favorite days because I get to reminisce about the good, bad or ugly of the past 365 days. I also get to look forward with excitement, joy and courage for the next year ahead. For many people, 2017 was a difficult year filled with many losses---jobs, homes, loved ones, health and many forms of security. For others, 2017 was a year of new beginnings---marriages, births, hirings, and new businesses. But regardless of how 2017 ended for us, the promise of a new year with new horizons to explore and new adventures to create gives me hope.

2018 will have great victories for each of us, but will hold disappointments, heartaches and possible losses. It's not that each year will get better, but it's how we handle each new day that will give us reason to look back and reflect on 2018 with peace in our hearts knowing we did our best, tried our hardest and used every opportunity to make our little corner of the world a better place.

I love what Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, "Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year." Each day we are alive is a gift and we must make the most of it. Even if we're sick in bed or feeling crummy, we must find a tiny sparkle of hope or give a glimmer of joy to ourselves or someone around us. That's what makes all the difference.

So, when we come to this threshold next year I hope we will reflect on the past 365 days with a heart of joy, gratitude and peace knowing we made the most of each day we were given.

I truly appreciate you, my friends, and pray God blesses you immensely this New Year with greater joy, peace and love than your hearts can contain!

With all my heart,

Jennifer
