Mexican Layered Dip


Regardless of what time of year it is, I think Mexican Layered Dip is always a yummy appetizer for any party and any crowd. Here's a simple, delicious recipe that my mom gave me years ago and can have many variations to it by adding or taking away ingredients that you desire most.

APPETIZER/PARTY FOOD: Mexican Layered Dip

Ingredients:

1 pound of ground beef (or ground turkey)

1 package of Taco Seasoning (or Spice with-- - Garlic, onion, salt, pepper, red pepper and oregano)

1 can 8 oz. refried beans

1 cup of sour cream

1 - 2 cups of hot sauce/salsa

1 bag of shredded cheddar cheese

Directions:

In a shallow baking pan layer as follows: (like a lasagna)

Ground beef (or turkey) – cooked with seasoning

Refried beans

Sour cream

Salsa—hot sauce

Cheddar cheese –shredded

Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes

Serve hot with corn chips
