The Fabulous Little Black Dress
Famous fashion designer Karl Lage once said, "One is never over-dressed or under-dressed with a Little Black Dress."
As I have grown older and life has gotten busier and filled with many more birthday parties, kids' swim meets and endless "shuttle runs" to activities, I have grown to appreciate more and more the simplicity of putting on a little black dress.
When I was single and free to spend hours perfecting my hair, makeup and wardrobe, I didn't take the time to appreciate the simple things in life like having the time to take a shower, brush my teeth or actually blow-dry my hair and curl it. Now, that I'm a mom and taking conference calls while doing laundry and making dinner all at the same time, there is something uniquely special about slipping into a slimming black dress that hides the imperfections and makes me excited to go out on the town!
One of my favorite little black dresses is by the designer Sandro. This tea-length, black dress was inspired by the very lovely Audrey Hepburn and can be dressed up with a pair of dazzling heels or can be dressed down for a more casual look with cute flats. The most wonderful aspect of a little black dress, whether it's worth $20 or $2,000, is that it doesn't need much to make a big impression. Whether it is worn with heels or flats, big diamonds or tiny pearls, there is nothing more classy and sophisticated than a woman who looks confident and relaxed for whatever the day may hold.
Here are several more little black dresses that make any body type and budget look FABULOUS!
