Cafe Society takes us to Hollywood
Infamous Director Woody Allen does it once again! He takes uninteresting, drab characters that we would never think were truly unique and makes them dance off the screen into our hearts.
His newest film Cafe Society just came out this month in theaters and is already receiving wonderful reviews. Jesse Eisenberg plays the lead role as a young man from the Bronx in the 1930s who moves to Hollywood to work for his uncle, a powerful talent agent to the biggest celebrities in the business, all-the-while falling in love and expanding his imagination about the high society nightclub culture. He soon returns to New York where he is once again swept up in the luxurious, tempting lifestyle of the high society nightclub world.
In a society where we currently see one super hero flick after another, this cleverly written historical comedy is like the long-awaited chocolate cake that makes us feel young again and want to relish in the beauty, pace and charm of old Hollywood and the 1930s. Allen and his cast should be applauded for another smash hit that will leave us tapping our toes and singing a new tune before the night is done!
Bravo!
