Fall is my favorite time of year and my favorite activites in the Fall are apple picking and hayrides! I know I sound a little crazy, but this was a childhood tradition for my family and me in Ohio and it still brings back sweet memories for me every time I smell a freshly picked apple or see a bale hay.
Living mainly in Southern California, I don't get to do as much apple picking or Fall activities as I did growing up in the North, but here are some great websites that shares all the places you can go apple picking around the United States.

The farm has a store with juice and jams for sale as well (no CSA membership required to purchase from the store).
Willowbrook Apple Orchard (Oak Glen, CA/Southern California) - Growing apples for over 100 years, this apple orchard is owned by the Swanson family and is nestled in the beautiful countryside of Southern California. Once on the premises, you’ll get the opportunity to choose Stayman Winesap apples as well as make your own cider by using an antique apple press. After picking apples and making your own cider, make sure to taste and even buy some of their famous apple butter, too!
